Sound Design | Audio Programming | Composition

Julia Merino Calleja is a sound designer, audio programmer and artist, currently based in Edinburgh (UK).

She designs sound for a variety of contexts such as films, virtual reality, games and installations.

Her practice focuses on immersive sound and its remarkable use as a tool for storytelling. She has a keen interest in collaboration and enjoys pairing her ideas and skills with artists from other disciplines. Similarly, she is enthusiastic about developing interactive experiences where the user may be an active participant in the sonic output. This is the reason why she is currently mostly interested in game audio and interactive media projects (specially VR).

She holds an MSc in Sound Design from the University of Edinburgh, a BEng in Audiovisual Engineering from the University Carlos III of Madrid, and an MA in Graphic Design from the University Rey Juan Carlos.
